Cinema in its short format is the main protagonist of the FICBUEU; however, live music is gradually making a name of itself offering this year a wide programme addressed to all audiences. In this 11th edition of the International Short Film Festival of Bueu, which will take place from 7th to 15th of September, the concerts will be led by several well-known artists from the Galician and state music scene. Among those artists: Xoel López, De Vacas and Paco Nogeiras; there will also be other live performances during the festival.
All concerts are free entrance except for the performance of Xoel López. It is a unique experience to enjoy his music in a more private format since only around 200 people will have access to the auditory of the Centro Social do Mar and will be able to listen to him on Friday, 7th of September at 22:30. The artist from A Coruña, with his alternative pop-rock and classic folk style, is considered to be one of the most representative and influential artists of the new Spanish music industry. Behind his pseudonym “Deluxe”, he started a successful career that, later with his real name, brought him awards like that of best independent artist. Just now, he presents us “Sueños y pan”, a record in which, after more than two decades of trajectory, Xoel aims at finding the balance between freedom and stability. Tickets are sold for 20 euros and are now available at https://www.ficbueu.com/en/tienda/concerto-de-xoel-lopez/.
De Vacas will perform at the FICBUEU on 8th of September at 13:00, outside the Centro Social do Mar. This musical quartet is formed by a guitar and three beautiful voices. The group covers famous hits, from the Spice Girls to the Gangnam Style, going through Enrique Iglesias or “Despacito” by Luis Fonsi, whose Galician version “Amodiño” has become viral in the Internet, reaching half million views. De Vacas has received the award Premio Martín Códax da Música and in this tour they combine their classic singles with a new repertory, so surprises are guaranteed.
The little ones will be able to enjoy music themselves too at the International Short Film Festival of Bueu with Paco Nogueiras and his performance “Radio BuleBule”, located at the Centro Social do Mar on 15th of September at 12:30. The proposal is based in the audiobook with the same title and is an invitation to experience the radio first hand in a hilarious programme full of humour, dance and music where Nogueiras does not forget the usual radio sections: news, sports, meteorology and cultural agenda. All these accompanied with carefully written lyrics and catchy rhythms that will encourage the audience to participate with a fresh style and with all the elements from the radiophonic field.
