A total of 3.000 people attended the 11º International Short Film Festival of Bueu from Friday to Sunday. In the first weekend of the event, almost all activities of the programme with limited capacity hung the “complete” sign, even the opening concert and the inauguration event. The same happened with activities like the show ‘From Galicia to Hollywood’, or the monologue of Carlos Blanco, which closed yesterday’s agenda with tons of laughter, without forgetting the screenings of the Galicia R and Spain Section.
The programme continues this afternoon at 18:00h with the first Panorama Section session at the Centro Social do Mar. These screenings, which will repeat itself until next Friday, gather the best global short films that did not make it into the International Section, a competing one. Today, we will be able to watch the Danish short film Abu Adnan, the British title Some girls or the French Saint désir. As for tomorrow, the programme features Douggy, a co-production between the United States, Russia and Sri Lanka, the animation film Pépé lee morse, the Canadian Crème de menthe and The sound, from United Kingdom. The access is free of charge, however it is necessary to get an invitation at the tickets window, open until 17:00h.
Every day at 19:45h and 22:00h the identic International Section sessions will take place, presenting 22 hours of multiple genres and nationalities, with an entrance fee of only 2,5 euros. Today we can enjoy the screenings of Chasse Royale (France), by Lise Akoka and Romane Gueret; Heyvan (Iran), by the siblings Bahram and Bahman Ark; Dependent (United Kingdom), by Phil Sheerin; and Vihta (France), by François Bierry. The actor of the latter, Jeremi Petrus, and the scriptwriter of Dependent, Curtis Cole, will be at the Meeting Point of FICBUEU at 21:15h to talk with the public.
