Live music will play an important role in the programme of the 12th Bueu International Short Film Festival, which will be held from 6th to 14th September. The live performances will be led by the artist from Barcelona Enric Montefusco, for whose concert tickets can already be purchased on www.ficbueu.com/entradas. Meanwhile, the organization also scheduled a series of free performances starring AJB Collective, Caspervek Trio, High Paw, Iván Rodríguez and The Swinging Flamingos. To these is added the concert PunkInfantil and the music of radio programs such as Agoraphobia in Carne Cruda.
The 12th Bueu International Short Film Festival will start on September 6th at 8pm with a background concert in the surroundings of the Centro Social do Mar, where members of the Bueu Jazz Association, under the name AJB Collective, will be in charge of playing the saxophone, drums and banjo, which will continue to sound both in the opening ceremony and at its end. On the same day, at 22.30 hours, the music will be transferred inside the auditorium with Caspervek Trio, and the activity ‘Panorama de cinema mudo: 15 anos de pioneiros da sétima arte (1902-1917)’. The group will be in charge of putting a soundtrack to three works that are already habitual in their repertoire, and will premiere two more. This way, five major works of cinema’s origin, signed by Mèliés, De Chomón, Chaplin, Guy and Griffit, will be projected with live music.
On the weekend, at 12.30 pm, the FICBUEU 2019 vermouth sessions will take place outside the Centro Social do Mar, where the public will be able to taste a Vermut Lodeiros of Galician production. Saturday 7th will be enlivened by High Paw meets Mr. Mou, duo in which singjay and guitarist High Paw, new promise of state reggae, will be accompanied by Mr. Mou in the casiotone. On Sunday 8th it will be the turn of Iván Rodríguez Covers, a show in which the singer, with more than 25 years of experience, will cover pop and rock classics. On Saturday at 22.30 will also take place the aforementioned concert by Enric Montefusco.
The music will return to the surroundings of the Centro Social do Mar on Saturday 14th September at 20h hours with The Swinging Flamingos to take us to the 20s in New Orleans. It will be a concert with a lot of swing that brings together the essence of the American big bands and will give way to the Closing Gala, which will conclude the FICBUEU 2019. Both this performance and that of the opening day have the support of the Deputation of Pontevedra through the Pontegal Plan.
