MEETING. JAIME ROSALES

In this conversation between filmmaker Jaime Rosales and film critic Yago Paris, we will explore the work of one of the most prominent Spanish filmmakers of the last few decades, while also analyzing the current crisis of capitalist societies and how it has been reflected in cinema over the past 25 years.

Jaime Rosales holds a degree and a Master’s in Business Sciences from ESADE and graduated from the International School of Cinema and Television of San Antonio de los Baños. Jaime Rosales’ films reflect the director’s great interest in finding new expressive forms that are distinct from the usual conventions of cinematic language. He has received numerous awards for his cinematographic work, including the Critics’ Award at the Cannes Film Festival, the Goya Award for Best Film and Best Director, the Critics’ Award at the San Sebastián Film Festival, and the Ecumenical Jury Prize at the Cannes Film Festival. In 2018, he published El lápiz y la cámara, a book that reflects on cinema and artistic creation. His latest feature film, Morlaix, shot in France, is currently in post-production.
