PRESENTATION OF FICBUEU MONOGRAPH #5. JONAS MEKAS

In this edition, Caderno FICBUEU #5 is prepared by researcher, educator, and music photographer Nieves Febrer and will focus on the prominent filmmaker Jonas Mekas, to whom the Retrospective Section is dedicated. Mekas was a key figure in the New York artistic and cinematic scene, especially during the 1950s and 1960s, and is one of the most renowned figures in independent cinema.

Nieves Febrer will present Caderno FICBUEU #5 by exploring Jonas Mekas’s career, focusing on the short films screened in the Retrospective Section. The event will feature representation from the General Secretariat for Linguistic Policy, which supports the publication of the FICBUEU Monographs once again.
