Bueu, May 15, 2025 — FICBUEU opens the call for entries for the Schools Section of its 18th edition. This section is dedicated to audiovisual work produced in educational centers, universities, and training schools, and has had its own space within the festival for several years.
The Schools Section features three competitive categories: Special Education, Preschool and Primary Education, and Secondary Education (all for Galician institutions), as well as Galician Film Schools and Universities.
The rules and the short film submission form are available at https://www.ficbueu.com/en/minific-eng/, a page that will remain open until June 30, the deadline for submissions.
All audiovisual works created during the 2023/2024 and 2024/2025 academic years that have not participated in previous editions are eligible. The call is open to educational centers, universities, and audiovisual training schools based in Galicia.
The selected works will be announced in August 2025 and will be eligible for the following awards:
- Best Short Film – Special Education, Preschool and Primary Education: Trophy and Audiovisual Training.
- Best Short Film – Secondary Education: Trophy and Audiovisual Training.
- Best Short Film – Galician Film Schools and Universities: Trophy and Audiovisual Training.
The winning short films will be announced during the FICBUEU 2025 Galician Schools Gala, which will take place in September as part of MiniFIC Week, in collaboration with Kalandraka and the Novas Foundation.
