Bueu, October 13, 2025 – For seven days, five filmmakers will live an immersive experience. Guiding the creative process as mentor will be screenwriter and director Celia Rico, one of the most prominent filmmakers of recent years. In 2018, she premiered her debut feature Journey to a Mother’s Room at the San Sebastián Film Festival, winning a Gaudí Award for Best Screenplay. Her second and third feature films, The Little Loves (2024) and The Good Letter (2025), premiered at the Málaga Film Festival, where they received several accolades. For children, she wrote the project Mironins (2022), which won a Gaudí Award for Best Animated Film.

From October 15 to 21, five filmmakers will experience an immersive residency on the Island of Ons, a unique natural setting that provides a privileged environment for the creative process. Throughout the residency, they will be accompanied by a team of leading professionals from the audiovisual sector.

Celia Rico will work closely with the participants throughout the week, offering individual mentorships and shared working sessions. Completing the team for the specific training sessions are other professionals such as composer and music educator Eva Gancedo, a specialist in film music, who received a Goya Award for her score for The Lucky Star and boasts a long career recognized with multiple awards. Filmmaker Noemi Chantada, who in recent years has expanded her work into casting direction for films such as The Rye Horn by Jaione Camborda and Romería by Carla Simón. Joining them is Lucía Delgado, actress and pioneer of intimacy coordination in Spain through Intimact. Specializing in diversity consultancy and psychological support on set, she also focuses on education and advocacy regarding consent and the representation of intimacy on screen.

The 3rd Edition of the FICBUEU Residency is once again established as a unique space for creation, collaboration, and the training of new voices in the field of short film project development.

The activity is supported by the Xunta de Galicia through the Galician Agency for Cultural Industries and funded by the Ministry of Culture.
