A FESTA DO NOSSO MENINO SÃO GONÇALINHO / THE CELEBRATION OF SAINT GONÇALINHO

According to Francisco van der Poel (2013), the word “party” comes from the Latin term festa and dies festus, which are derived from the also Latin word feriae, “holiday”. According to Conceição Lopes, there are days of change, interruption regarding the logic of the activities and work, days of praise and celebration for life, as well as spaces for privileged communication (2015). This documentary shows the clear concept of the celebration of St. Gonçalinho, in Aveiro (Portugal), specifying the different phases experienced during this festivity.
