Bueu, September 2, 2025 – The Bueu International Film Festival kicks off next Friday, September 5, and we want to highlight an essential part of our identity: our commitment to accessibility.
A Festival for Everyone
At FICBUEU, we are firmly committed to accessible and inclusive culture. All activities are designed to promote universal access and include specific measures to ensure that no one is excluded due to physical, economic, or social reasons.
The Centro Social do Mar and its surroundings, the main venues of the event, are accessible and offer:
- Step-free access and adapted restrooms.
- Spaces marked with pictograms to support reading comprehension.
- Free entry for companions of people requiring support, and unrestricted access for assistance dogs.
- Nearby public transportation and reserved parking spaces for people with reduced mobility.
Our team is always available to provide priority assistance to anyone who needs it.

Promoting access to culture for all people, regardless of their economic situation, many festival activities are free of charge.
In line with a sustainable festival model, we also encourage recycling, avoid single-use plastics, and promote the responsible consumption of resources.
In addition, once again this year, a solidarity collection point will be set up in collaboration with the Vigo – Pontevedra Food Bank, focusing on food, hygiene, and menstrual care products.
The FICBUEU Kids’ Space returns once again as a key initiative to support work-life balance during the festival.
From Monday, September 8 to Saturday, September 13, the Multipurpose Room at the Centro Social do Mar will host this space designed so that mothers, fathers, and caregivers can attend Official Section screenings while children enjoy a fun and educational environment. This initiative has the support of the Department of Equality through the Corresponsables Plan.
The kids’ space program includes educational content that turns the experience into a place of learning and fun, reinforcing the festival’s social and transformative character.
Additionally, this year we will feature different workshops each day, carried out by members of the Juan XXIII Association.
