FICBUEU is collaborating this month with various European festivals.
FICBUEUBueu, November 4, 2024 – The International Film Festival of Bueu (FICBUEU) continues its efforts to promote the short film beyond the annual event held in Bueu.
Following the 17th edition of FICBUEU, various activities scheduled for 2024 are still ongoing, coinciding this month with several of its national and international collaborations.
Thus, last weekend, the Bueu festival took the shorts “Habitar” by Anxos Fazáns and “Frialdad” by Andrea Sánchez to Edinburgh. Both shorts were present in the Official Section of FICBUEU 2024, with “Habitar” winning the award for the best Galician short film of the year. Their presence in the Scottish city was the result of the collaboration between FICBUEU and the Edinburgh Short Film Festival (ESFF), which invited the organizers of several European festivals to be part of its program in the European Film Festivals Showcase once again. Other festivals present at this event included the Adriatic Film Festival, an Italian festival held annually in Francavilla al Mare (Chieti), Shortcutz Amsterdam, which is part of the Shortcutz network that hosts events in numerous cities, and the Budapest Short Film Festival, which has been running for 20 years.
The next collaboration event for FICBUEU will take place in Barcelona on November 8. On this occasion, invited by the Lens Dans Festival, FICBUEU will screen the short film “A Room with a View,” created by the collective (LA) Horde in collaboration with the Ballet National de Marseille and musician Rone. This work, which was screened in the Discoveries Section of FICBUEU 2021, will be part of the closing of this festival dedicated exclusively to dance on video.
However, these will not be the last collaborations for FICBUEU in 2024, as at the end of November the organization will hold an event in Bueu where the public can enjoy various films proposed by other festivals.
