BUEU INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL

MiniFIC

MiniFIC was created in 2016 with the aim of developing a complete and specific programme for younger audiences. Thus, FICBUEU integrates not only screenings reserved for education centres in the area, which visit the festival every year, but also a whole competitive section specially designed for schools that work with audiovisuals at any educational level.

The Galician Schools Section awards prizes each year for different educational levels through the categories: Special Education, Infant and Primary Education; Secondary Education and Galician Film Schools and Faculties. In addition to the awards and diplomas of participation in the contest, the winning short films receive audiovisual material for the education centres, except in the category of Faculties and Film Schools, where the prize consists of a training course with film industry professionals.

On the other hand, the International Schools Section collects and awards those works that come from educational institutions from all over the world focused on the seventh art. These films, which arrive through the FICBUEU’s main call for entries, find here their deserved space for screening and promotion.

In addition to the short film competition, MiniFIC includes a series of screenings for schools and education centers of the region in which the Kindergarten, Children’s and Juniors Sections are screened, bringing cinema closer to a wide audience of different ages. These screenings have been accompanied for several editions by the FICBUEU Didactic Units, a teaching material designed and adapted to each educational stage with the aim of disseminating film and promoting audiovisual education.

Each year MiniFIC completes its programme with numerous and varied activities such as storytelling, workshops, concerts, etc.
