Bueu, October 31, 2025 – Last week marked the end of the 3rd edition of the FICBUEU Residency, which took place on the Illa de Ons. This space for the development of short film projects featured this year the participation of Paula Costa, Sara Ferro, Aura Sala, Andrea Sánchez, and Sara Traba, the five selected filmmakers.
Over the course of seven days, the creators had the opportunity to advance in the writing of their scripts in an environment of collaboration and learning. The FICBUEU Residency aims to strengthen the quality and feasibility of the projects and to provide interdisciplinary tools that complement and enhance both the creative and production processes.
Screenwriter and filmmaker Celia Rico Clavellino accompanied the participants throughout the residency. Her involvement was essential in creating a climate of trust that allowed each participant to delve deeper into their stories and characters. The mentor and residents worked through individual tutoring sessions and collective script workshops, which enriched the projects and provided diverse and insightful perspectives.
In addition, the participants enjoyed specialized training sessions covering different areas of audiovisual creation, such as music in cinema with Eva Gancedo, casting direction with Noemí Chantada, and intimacy coordination with Lucía Delgado. These three professionals shared their experience and vision, enriching dialogue and reflection around the filmmaking process through a group masterclass and dedicated time to work individually on each project.
For seven days, the Illa de Ons became a privileged setting for inspiration, encounter, and learning, providing the reflective space that every creative process requires.
From the FICBUEU Association, we express our gratitude for the talent, generosity, and enthusiasm that filled the week, and we look forward to continuing to support new creators in their cinematographic journeys in future editions.
The activity is supported by the Xunta de Galicia through the Galician Agency for Cultural Industries and funded by the Ministry of Culture.
