On 26 February, the call for projects will open. Through this call, five short films will be selected to take part in this training programme, which will take place from 13 to 19 October.
Bueu, 19 february 2026 – Once again, Ons Island will host the participants selected for the 4th FICBUEU Residency, offering them a privileged natural setting and an optimal environment for the creation and development of their projects.
The FICBUEU Residency is a training programme aimed at film creators in which different industry professionals accompany and mentor short film projects in the development phase.
The programme combines individual mentoring sessions, script workshops and specialised training activities, all delivered by renowned professionals from the audiovisual sector. In addition to strengthening the selected projects, this structure seeks to facilitate the acquisition of tools and resources that foster an interdisciplinary perspective on the production process.
Organised by the FICBUEU Association, the initiative is designed to consolidate short film proposals from the script stage onwards, creating a working space focused on the comprehensive development of projects and offering guidance and advisory support throughout the entire process.
The five participants selected for the 4th FICBUEU Residency, in addition to being accredited to take part in all the activities of the 19th edition of FICBUEU, will receive a €1,500 award intended to support the project’s development phase.
FICBUEU thus consolidates an initiative that reaches its fourth edition following the success of previous calls, with a record of more than 200 proposals received last year, reaffirming its commitment to audiovisual creation. The Residency becomes part of FICBUEU’s annual programme as an essential space for mentoring, exchange and reflection for the development of new projects.
Projects may be submitted until 1 April. The full call guidelines can be consulted here.
