Eduardo is a man that is beginning to have issues taking care of himself. In his household, he lives alone with an android whose only job is to make his life easier. With time, Eduardo finds himself developing a close relationship with the robot, something he never accomplished with his son Anxo. The old man projects in the android the identity he wishes for his son. However, after a family gathering, he realizes how much this affects the ones he has around him.

It’s Friday night. Diego comes home after work and all he wants is time for himself. His friends want him to hang out with them, but Diego prefers his quiet plan alone at home. It seems that the universe does not agree.

“Malgrat” is a documentary project that reflects upon the capacity of spaces to shelter memories. Through images of the past recorded with the family’s video camera, images of the present and the confrontation of both, is composed the story of Iago and Javi, who make a trip to say goodbye to the family’s house, after the recent passing of their grandmother.

A young girl writes a letter to Mariví Villaverde, daughter of the republican mayor of the village where she was born. Mariví had to go into exile at the age of 14 because of the coup d’état, do their lives have anything to do with each other? Are the traces of the people and stories that preceded us visible in the places where we grew up? This story reflects on the importance of historical memory through the experiences of its protagonist.



O NENO SARDIÑA / SARDINE BOY
LUCÍA ESTÉVEZ – 2022 / SPAIN
People say that in an indeterminate place of the Miño River, in the north of Galicia, a sardine-boy crosses the current at the end of the carnival festivities, leaving behind the people who celebrate his burial. It is unknown what causes his transformation, but it is said that the most watchful eyes can notice the moisture on his skin. Its existence is confirmed by the biggest sceptics. No one in the area has any doubts.
